Harper’s Jam News

The Never Ending Search for Fruit!

My life has now become a never ending search for fruit!

Our next event is the Mountain Mandarin Festival – weekend before Thanksgiving at Auburn County Fair Grounds.  Those of you who know our products realize that this means the return of the ever popular Pine-Gerine Jam!

We are very grateful for the response of the folks at the Calaveras County Fair Grounds (Angel’s Camp) this last weekend.  We were even interviewed by a local newspaper.  The most popular item that day was our Apricot Curry Chutney – we just never know what will be the item of the show.  Each time it is different.

As we go into a new season the products change a bit due to fruit availability.  However, having established some relationships with local growers we have the ability now to provide things like Strawberry Rose much later into the off season.

Today I will pick up two flats of Strawberries, two 40 lb boxes of pears and jars! I am often asked where we get our jars.  Walmart.  They are $7.97 per case, which is the lowest price I can find without having to pay shipping which eats the jar savings.

We are gearing up for your holiday needs.  Hoping like heck to be able to stay ahead of the demand.  We love your delight in the products!

Pear Pandamonium!

We are SO excited to be invited to be part of the Annual Courtland Pear Fair!

We hope you will join the 5000 people who attended last year and come taste some of our new Pear recipes.

This really is the most fun part for me – trying new products.

In addition to our First Place, Blue Ribbon winning Pear Chutney (2013 CA State Fair) we have added items like Pear Honey, Vanilla Pear Jam and an original HARPER Family Jam Recipe AMBER PEAR from Aunt Margaret Harper.

Pear Fair in Courtland July 27th (9-6) come for a tasting!

Harper’s Harvest has it’s Cottage Food Permit!

There was a law passed 16 months ago allowing certain foods to be prepared for sale in home kitchens. Certain foods are permitted and certain foods are not.

We were able to acquire a permit to produce jams and are very excited.

Our next booths are –
